Cruise Document Rundown: U.S. citizens taking a "closed-loop" cruises: originate and terminate in the same U.S. port, do not require a passports, but need proof of citizenship. (original or certified copy of birth certificate, certificate of naturalization, passport card, an enhanced driver's license AND government-issued photo ID.) Children require proof of citizenship. Over 16: photo ID required. If a cruise begins and ends in different U.S. ports or begins and ends in a foreign port, a valid passport or other WHTI compliant document is required. European cruises require passport in good condition, 6-months out expiration date from return travel date. Non-US citizens must have a passport for air, land and sea travel.
