* Mastif Trail: No trip to Grand Cayman would be complete without exploring some of the last remaining old-growth forests of the Caribbean. Located in the interior Mastic Reserve, The Mastic Trail is one natural heritage site. This 2.3 mile trail and guided walk takes approx. 2-1/2 to 3 hrs. You will learn about rare trees including an exceptionally specimen of Mastic tree, the Reserve and Trail's name. The Reserve is home to Cayman's native Parrot, the West Indian Woodpecker, Caribbean Dove, and many other bird species. Butterflies, snakes (not poisonous), frogs, crabs and lizards are a few other animals. Guided Tours are Tuesday/ Thursday mornings by reservation only. One of Cayman's best kept secret tours, space is booked on The National Trust’s website.
