Before embarking on a cruise, acquaint yourself with the cruise line’s policies. They differ across cruise lines and dictate what can and cannot be brought on board.

Several companies, for instance, prohibit bringing personal alcohol, while others may allow a limited quantity.  So check it out and save yourself a lot of packing trouble and unexpected surprises at the port of entry.

A number of cruise lines have dress codes for their dining rooms and other public spaces. Familiarizing yourself with these rules helps avoid packing inappropriate or unnecessary clothing. The last thing anyone wants is to bring a  suitcase full of clothes only to find out they can’t be worn in the main dining room or the chic casino.
